Essentially yes, but each side is slightly different. Port Jeff is very easy, passengers leave the Ferry and walk right out to the main drag running through port Jeff. There are several landmarks you can use to meet, such as the Candy store directly across the street. Bridgeport you will have to drive down an access road with limited parking at the actual terminal. Alternatively, there is also a pedestrian walkway that goes right out to water street right at the Bridgeport train station...with a little cell phone communication you can pick people up there curbside.
When picking up a passenger in Bridgeport STAY IN LINE. Yes hazard lights are a helpful indicator, but they mean more than "I'm just picking up or dropping off." Going around the line of cars to get your party to or from the terminal can be constituted as a breach of security, as well as being unsafe for you, pedestrians, other vehicles, the staff just trying to do their job, and more. Stay in line and talk to the staff when they get to you. I don't care if it's your first or 100th time there. Stay in line, stop at the check point, talk to staff, and everybody will get to where they need to go. Consider that many people who use the Bridgeport terminal won't read this and do what they want, be the one who follows the rules. You'd be surprised at the reaction you get from the staff. Believe me. I know. I work there.
You can pick up or drop off through the same line riders use, they will have persons there to direct you. Usually you will put your hazard lights on to indicate your vehicle is only pick up/ dropoff, and you can skip the rider car line. Its very simple and they will direct you.
On the Port Jeff side if it's between May & Sept., you need a Brookhaven sticker to park in the Marina lot & meet them. Otherwise you'll have to try to find a spot & have a meeting place. Cell phone is a must. The other months to get in is free. Parking is difficult on Port Jeff side. Bridgeport side you tell the person in the booth you're picking someone up & they'll tell you where to park. Good luck.
Yeah man
Yes
Just ask the guys at the terminal. They'll direct you were to pick up a passenger.
Passengers can walk off or on the ferry and be picked up right there.
