You need some sort of ID for sure
Some type of proof you're a customer. They may not be government, but they require solid confirmation of exactly who is receiving equipment so it never becomes questionable should someone impersonate the customer. Would you want to be responsible for equipment that another received in your name? If the company provided anything on an account and was fraudulent, would you want to be liable? If you were to buy the equipment of any kind it would be pretty expensive, so neither the company nor the customer would be responsible for any loss.
