most of the picnic areas are very close to parking areas.
There are several parking areas throughout, but some are limited spaces. You can usually get closer to unload and move your car too.
If it is the rental picnic areas. Then it's a good walk. Outside the zoo is a grass area where you can set up your own picnic area. The parking lot is next to the zoo.
