Been going to Sutter's for decades. Do the staff a favor and for large parties, ask for a reservation. That said, I agree with John G, on weekends most definitely. Weekdays they would probably find a way to fit you in with little trouble or wait depending on the time of day you went.
It is a good idea to let them know in advance so they can jave a table set up for that many people. There is lots of construction happening in the center now, so unfortunately people think they are closed but they are not.
Meh' probably on the weekends. But just call ahead most likely ok
