I’m a marine and currently stationed. My car has been sitting and the tags expired in may 2021. In order to get a duplicate title do I need to renew my tags first before receiving it ?

I really don't think you have to have tags being that you're a marine but a duplicate title is it separate thing I think you can get that. Hope that's helpful thank you
