Definitely.. and there is decent amount of parking.. the park is a pretty launch point. The water does have access to the gulf but is inland enough to have pond/lake like calmness..
You can launch kayaks off Craig Park, however I prefer Howard Park, nearby and on the Gulf. Good beach area as well.
