A few years ago I was able to get some more reading material and was told that on that day you were forgiven all fines. Do they still have a fine forgiveness day?

Yes no fines. But you should always renew for a second term. So many people are reading n if you renew they know they can't get book for another 2 weeks. Be kind to fellow readers. Also there are drop off bins outside you drive up to, to return books at any hour of the day or night.
