Don't look a dog in the eye if you don't know the dog well. Take a deep breath & relax. A dog knows you are scared before you know & will think you are up to something. Don't put your hand out towards the dog in a friendly way, because it can take it to be a threat. Stay still in a relaxed mode to let the dog sniff you. This is how the dog becomes relaxed and gains trust in you. Carry a stick, Cane, Umbrella or hold something in between you & the dog. Stand your ground and firmly say go in a calm manner.
Jessica, the entrance is right on 165th, but is sometimes closed. There is a parking lot, but I have parked on the street. Definitely bring a stick, because it can be very isolated.
Right off SW 162nd ave. Drive in and follow the driveway to the parking area It is self-explanatory once you get there.
