The view from the balcony if always good. There is a full service bar on that floor, and i find it easier to hold my spot

Pretty much the honest truth is that you have to just get there very early and stay in one spot. Try to go with another person so you can have drinks.

You don't. Unless you're with other people. The downside to the seats upstairs is that you cannot view the stage from them.
If you are looking for a standing spot, thrn j dont think there's a way - unless one person goes earlier than the rest. If you are looking for a seat, then I think I saw a couple of tables say reserved on the second floor.
