I just moved to FL from NY, my NY drivers license is expired, do I have to go through the whole learners permit? Or can I get a FL drivers license without doing all of that?

Your expired license will be adequate to issue you a Florida driver license. Please make sure to bring that with you to our office. We will also require you to bring a certified birth certificate or a valid passport, your social security card and two proofs of your current Florida address. If you have had a name change, we will be required to see proof of that, the documents you provide must be the original copy. I hope this information is helpful.

You may want to go to pascocountyfl.net and see what other documents you will need. I needed like 10 documents, including birth certificate, proof of divorce & any name changes, a piece of mail with my name and address...just thought you should know...

No learners permit, just proof of residence and old drivers license.
