Is it possible to adopt an animal in the same day I walk in the store? I'm looking into getting a cat for my girlfriend but I'm not sure if it's where you have to wait a few days or can pick up the pet the same day

There’s a wild cat (kitten) less than a year old in my condo complex who I’ve been feeding & it’s deathly sick. It’s so skinny, has worms, extremely malnourished & on the verge of dying. If I brought it to the SPCA would they help deworm & neuter him
