Why wasn't any museum or historical society in Ventura trying to save the Day House? Or the E.P. Foster house on the Avenue? 140 years old in it's original location? Free to whomever would move it? We didn't even know!

My guess, is that; as the article states...while the house itself is free, securing property to move it plus, the cost of moving it and then renovating it is exponential...over 1 million dollars. Museums and other non profits don't have those kind of funds. It would have been better I think if the city of Ventura gave them historical monument status like they have done for so many other homes, and then the houses could not be touched. So that is a question you need to address the mayor and city council about.

I'm not familiar with this issue. I don't live in Ventura.
