Art exhibitions are the highlight, I thought. Super-elaborate doll-like historical figures reside in a popular gallery. Kids have activities and a garden to explore. Free admission is another good feature. I visited on a Friday afternoon and found the museum uncrowded.

Fantastic exibit and experience. Would have preferred it if the camera man could've been in the back instead of having his equipment blocking the entire center isle view. There's no rake in this auditorium.

There are a lot of amazing exhibits here... the one that stood out for me was the individually sculpted dolls donated to the museum by George S. Stuart which are more impressive when you realize each has a metal skeleton and he sculpted the heads on top of tiny cast human skulls... pretty amazing craftsmanship!

The staff were great here and I would have most likely rated the museum as a 4 but the day I visited, the main gallery was closed for setup of a new exhibition. At least I was able to visit their native American and Catholic doll exhibitions. Have to admit the dolls were very interesting but some were a little scary.

Why wouldn’t you contact the museum directly? I’ve never seen anyone from a respective ‘business’ respond to anything on a Google Q&A listing. I doubt anyone connected is ever even notified when someone posts a question. It’s Google, not the museum’s website.
My guess, is that; as the article states...while the house itself is free, securing property to move it plus, the cost of moving it and then renovating it is exponential...over 1 million dollars. Museums and other non profits don't have those kind of funds. It would have been better I think if the city of Ventura gave them historical monument status like they have done for so many other homes, and then the houses could not be touched. So that is a question you need to address the mayor and city council about.
Can't remove but between 5 n 10 dollars
First Sunday of the month is free. I believe its under 10. The exhibits change too
