Go to the location and ask for a DL APPLICATION QR CODE. They'll give you a card with a number, then you can do it online and avoid the 5hr wait
You can make a reservation online for future appointment. For a walk on appointment, go to the dmv office. There is a lady outside the office who will give you an appointment and a time on as available basis.
