I’ve been meaning to right this review for a few weeks. I just have to say that my experience at the San Clemente DMV was excellent. I had an appointment to renew my drivers license for a Real ID and everyone was so helpful and everything went very smoothly. Also, I received my Real ID in a week! Thank you!

Took my drivers test and even though I past, I had a horrible experience. The person who tested me was named “Guy” and he is genuinely the worst person I have ever met! He had no manners, yelled at me on multiple occasions, and even called me “dumb.” When I asked him simple questions such as “how is your day?” He either ignored me or simply scoffed at me. He ran out of the car when we finished yelling “christ sake you past just stop right here” and I was not even a quarter of the way in the parking spot. In conclusion if you get Guy, either schedule for another day or prepare for your day to be ruin.

10 a.m. on a Tuesday morning to take the written test, renew my license and upgrade to Real ID -minimal line and wait. Everyone was pleasant and helpful and the whole experience was amazingly nice. Best DMV experience I ever had.

Great experience at the San Clemente DMV today getting my Real I.D. Made an appointment on-line a few days ago. Today, I arrived at my scheduled appointment time & was immediately helped by a nice gal at the check-in desk. After about 5 minutes, my name was called to take care of the specifics for my Real ID. Brianna took care of what I needed so quickly. She was very knowledgeable & patient & kind. Brianna even helped me with a few other things I had questions about. From start to finish, I was most impressed. Oh, the nice gal who takes your picture was so sweet, too! You can't help but smile when you have a joyful happy person taking your picture. :)

Can I use my handicap sign in someone else 's car?
Vision test
Is the San Clemente DMV open?
not very busy
Yes, go toward the end of the day and the wait will be much less.
Don't make a appointment you will still wait for number to be call. You can do it online that's what I do
same.
Call DMV that's how I got it. They asked if I could go San Clemente. I'm sorry I threw the # out but just tell them the office you want.
Ca dmv. Gov
Of course. You have to wait in line but I would go there and there is someone who will answer any questions at the entrance 😉
You can make an appointment online but it won't be for about 2 weeks or later. Best way to save time is to fill out the application for DL and it gives you a code when your finished. Then you can go to dnv with your online code and it will save you time . Best time to go is when they open or right before they close.
No
I need to change my last name on the end of my name is a h Vandenbergh. do I need to come in or go on line
I'm very satisfied with dmv in San Clemente ! Usually Wednesday and Thursday afternoon is the best time go there ! Very easy, friendly employee, not to many people in and fast service ! Not even 30min and I was out with new car registration ! Thanks San Clemente DMV !!!!😁😉
Online at the DMV website.
What is the driving test for? did you receive a traffic violation or some kind of other thing like that possibly a DUI? If so then you need to contact the driver's safety Office of the DMV which is in Orange. I had a family member that received one in the past and was also told that they needed to take a reevaluation test but failed to do so and it took them many trips to the DMV driver safety office and other places to sort it out because they did not do it on time.
Simple . Go online. Also, if you renew online, no test, picture or eye exam.
You don't *need* an appointment for anything, but having one gets you in faster if there's a line. It's pretty easy to make an appointment on the DMV website.
DMV.org
Sorry I got rid of the # . Just google Dmv there will be an 800#
You should be able. I got 1 for my mom a few years ago.
You can make an appointment on the DMV website.
I got mine today, I did mine 11/19. (13 calendar days)
Just go to dmv.ca.gov and follow the prompts. I just checked and reservations are available from Monday the 18th on. Be sure you have all the documents that are required.
By internet is the best way
Should be a print out
Go to DMV.ca.gov follow the instructions. Go to Appointment.
I don't think so...check there website for more information
Go back to the DMV and tell them that you need an extension for your current license. I went through the same problem and they gave me a provisional license. Tell them that you still haven't received your license and they will look into it. Take them the proof of that you already paid for it.
There is an online appointment just look for dmv website. There is also walk in, If you are early much better is the later.
I think before you left the online site, you should have gotten some sort of confirmation and if you didn't, I don't think it went through I would say either go back online and try to find out, or go to the office and find out. The line is scarier than it looks. It actually moves alright. Then you will know for sure and it's better than guessing, wondering, and/ or plain just not knowing.
You can go online and make an appointment through their website.
They are taking walk ins right now but depending on what you are needing to do it is a hit or miss. I would definitely make an appointment
Only if you don't have a passport and you want to fly, and possibly other transportation. No written test. But you do need to go online and fill out the RealID application and gather a list of papers showing your full correct name, address, and Social Security number, then upload images to that website. I just renewed and got the RealID at the same time. It is a special logo on my new drivers license.
Yes
Go to the DMV website and enter your information to see the dates available or call the dmv office to schedule the appointment.
I don't know. I know I walked in without an appointment to get my driver's license updated.
Make it on the dmv website, or call the dmv phone number
Take some utility bills under your name, passport, you will get a real ID also. I was ready to take an test but due to Covid, no test take picture all done. Very quick went inside. Good luck 🤙
Yes looks like short handed
Yes, but you have to get there early or when they open to stand in the non-appointment line to get a walk-in appointment time for the same day.
Go to the location and ask for a DL APPLICATION QR CODE. They'll give you a card with a number, then you can do it online and avoid the 5hr wait
Yes, but go early. Outside the DMV office there is a lady who will give you an appointment and time. Then you go at the given time and wait outside till you are called, you are not allowed to wait inside. However, this system worked quite well.
Honestly, sometimes it goes bit fast sometimes it literally takes hours... I doubt it's 35 minutes for a massive line the unfortunate part is that, you can be waiting there for hours and they tell you no more people to come on over... what they do tell you is, Try coming the next day earliest you can be My reccomendations is not waste your time waiting in that huge line, Just come back like the next day earliest you can, hoping there would be a shorter line because chances you waited hours only for them to send you home instead of going there what you needed/wanted to do, Most things can be done Online to save time.
You can book an appointment online for the written and the behind the wheel tests and it is highly suggested as the previous person indicated as they o let take a limited number of walk in people. There is an express line and an appt line that forms to the right of the entrance. They are on it and will go down the line to make sure you are in the right line with all your paperwork in hand. The walk in people line up to the right of the building and with social distancing they stretch out around the street into the residential area. On the website click on online services, choose driver's license exam, it asks what test you need, choose written, it asks you to pick the location and then the time slots available. Print that out or use the phone confirmation barcode when you arrive to check in. Good luck.
If you just purchased the vehicle you will need to transfer the title and register into your name. You may be able to do that online at dmv.ca.gov
Online virtually
You might be able to renew it from home. Check the California DMV website. In case you're not, you'll have to show up in person at the DMV bringing your documents.
I was just there and yes they do but you have to go early like 6am to get a ticket and time to come back. They only hand out 200 tickets a day.
Not at this time but you can arrive early as a walk-in
I was there last week. On that day, they were opening at 8am. I got there at 7:30am and the line was into the next door parking lot. Even though I had a "Stop Pass" I had to go to the back of the line and wait until they called for us. They gave me a time to come back and when I did, there was a lady who had arrived at 8am, and had been waiting for 3 hours. See if you can get a pass to go into the appointment line, without the appointment because you are just returning for an eye test. Good luck. Make sure you bring patience and a folding chair. 😃
Not taking appointments now. https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/make-an-appointment/
Yes only walk ins.the only appointments are rescheduled from when shut down in March.i got there at 8 waited in line little over a HR to get #.then another 4 hrs to be called. But they text you so you don't have to hang around
I went there last week at 7am. Got in line. Whole process took 2:50. The dmv people are really trying hard to deal with this situation. I rate my experience as B+. Beware: no bathroom facilities
This is Michael riley, Jan Riley's husband. I just took the driving test last May (2021) and passed. I was told my DL did not expire until June 2023. I noticed on my DL that it expires June 27 2022. Is that correct? Since I renew every 2 years. Please clarify.
Look online. The forms should be there. Download and complete. We were there last week and we're told the walk-in option is being stopped again. Call and talk to someone.....long wait but so informative and the nicest DMV people are answering the phones!
They were open to walk-ins but probably won't be now because of governor's new announcements.
The renewal notice is a courtesy letter which usually tells you how to renew your license, some people may renew it on the internet or mail. I suggest you call DMV to insure you don't have to make a second trip. There is usually no need for a test to renew your license. Make an appointment.
You can use phone or email confirmation
Make a phone call
Better to call DMV
Better call dmv
You can call
Probably yes
Yes on their computer
You don't need an appointment, but if you go in without one you're looking at a very very long wait.
Yes
Online you can make an appointment
Try login in and editting it ...or contact them they will call you back by the end of the day.
You can go in and wait to take a test or make an appointment. I advise an appointment.
No
It's always better to make an appointment. You should check online services first and theres a kiosk in Dana Point. You might not need to go to DMV.
Fill out a change of address form
Use their website (DMV.ca.gov) or call. An appointment isn't necessary though, I just went in and renewed mine a couple months ago.
I have No idea how you would go about finding it. But I would start by telling starting over again and maybe that will give a clue as to what you need to do.. Good luck....
Yes
You need to go online and make yourself an appt.
It has been difficult to schedule an appointment!I have been unsuccessful.I need to renew my driver license.
Yes, could be a long wait. Making an appointment is the best, fastest way
https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/detail/portal/foa/welcome
Do it when you get back .. or before you go. As long as you dont drive it you should be fine .. you can also get whats called a non moving vehicle tag i think thats free
Dmv.ca.gov click on the appointment tab
Yes, All DMVs are connected by 1 computer system. I drive out to a Dmv in another county when I neex something
It took a long time to get mine too. But they did arrive in the time frame they said.
How do I make an appointment
The DMV is closed on Saturdays
It goes by pretty fast though . 1-2 hours in the morning and 2-3 in the evening
You can renew your license without the paper . All you need to do is pay the $35 for driver license application fee i believe . Correct me if im wrong.. or call the dmv and have them call you back and ask them directly. Hope that helps !
That is what we did.
30 minutes
Yes, she can. And the number from her driver's license remains the same on her ID card.
Yes
You can go to the DMV ask them what's going on with your tags
