I have a 5year old. She had a blast there. I did have to guide her to climb down some rocks by the parking area.. but after that she had tons of fun.
Only Cabrillo Beach which is nearby. It has a really big beach and plenty of room for kids to play.
Yes they can pick out a nice rock.
