Is a 2 hour transfer time sufficient when arriving in SFO from Frankfurt Germany with a connecting flight on United Airlines from SFO to Palm Springs?

Don't be sure. You have to through Homeland security there. I waited more than 6 hours last time! My esta was new. Friends who had been thee recently, only waited 4 hours (however no connected flights. Don't know how much that would have changed, since you have to go through Homeland security in SF in any case. (I traveled from Denmark)
