It does, thank you so very much! My wife was actually the last night dropping off some food from where she works. We got to talking about the place and how it might have benefitted this kid that was frequenting the park by my place, when my question arose. She suggested I just ask you all, so i did! :)
Often times these teens are unable or unwilling to comply with their parents and or the rules of the house. My understanding is that it is not illegal for parents to "kick the child out ", but it is simply a shelter. It is not foster care and while there are qualified staff and personnel, rules and regulations, and some supervision, it is not a place to drop a child with the idea that someone else will raise that child. Many teens can stop in to shower, rest, get bus passes, food, clothing, etc and the staff is great about pointing these kids in the direction they need to go. I hope this answers your questions.
