The george is beautiful. Scenic. Try to go early in in the morning. There is natural granite and the water flows. Amazing
The best time to go is spring when the falls are more abundant and fall when the colors are more brilliant. Too touristy in summer.
Its a great combination of ease of access and natural beauty. Waterfalls, covered bridges, hike through woodlands and of course the gorge itself. Busy times are frustrating and you lose the vuty among the bustle of the throng of tourist but because ofnthe user friendly nature of the location, its difficult to avoid the 'tourist' seasons
Riding bicycles is a good choice
Hi, Raj. Flume Gorge is historic, educational, and beautiful! I have hiked it a few times, and every time, I find it more interesting. I guess it depends upon what you want to get out of it: You can just do the 45-60 minute hike if that's all you want, or you can stop along the way and look at the amazing scenery, take pictures, and learn about the impressive geological history of the area. Check it out!
There are many aspects to The Flume Gorge. Is not just the board to self which has a cataract or waterfall as you can make and call it. There's a steep Trail up to the top but there's a 2-mile trail that gets to the top. Of us will take you there or you can hike it. But the entire area has many Scenic value the old man in the mountain used to be there but there's also Brides on gondolas other water features as the basin and many geological features. This is a lovely drive down the highway which incorporates the many exits to the various features. A very worthwhile area to explore
I echo all the comments mentioned above. If you are planning to go late in the day it's better to buy the tickets in advance (so you can avoid ticket lines). If you are planning to take infants I suggest taking a carrier instead of stroller.
It is an amazing experience. Standing in front of fall with water spray coming from a large fall is memorable. Best time is spring when there is plenty of water. Well preserved natural beauty.
The early formation & changes through time
I echo both of the above. Although I have a difficult time with hiking hills, I still found that it was accessible and beautiful. We went in the pool and the foliage was lovely. Do avoid the crowded times if possible.
It has gorgeous scenic, I think it's close for the season tho. Go early in the AM so the line isn't too long
It's a beautiful hike. Go when it's not so busy, though.
