Are there dedicated indoor pickleball courts or are there only certain times to play?

I've tried to play there but courts seem controlled by one person. He dislikes 'outsiders and beginners on HIS court. Definitely doesn't play well with others or share. The gym managers seem to defer to that person. We felt unwelcome on 2 attempts to play there. 😥
