Should the Catholic Church be telling people how to vote? The pamphlets in the hallway of the church are disturbing. They encourage people to take them to the poll. Shouldn't people be making their own decisions by researching the candidates?

I'm lucky my parish cares enough to spend time and help me make a faith based voting decision. They do not make me do anything I can choose to do what I want. And your reply is worse then your question. Free Will is why most people go to hell but yes God does give is that right. My vote is strongly based on a pro life decision as should all practicing Catholics.

The pamphlet gave the names of candidates that were pro life as if that were the only issue we were voting on. I think that it is an abuse of power when so many people still look to the Catholic Church to make their decisions for them. A morally conscious decision can only be made using free will not blind obedience. You may not make your decisions this way but many people in the Catholic faith still do. Peace to you and your family too.
