I would go to Greenbrier state park outside of gatlinburg. It's a very nice place to spend the day playing and lots of river play for the kids. Bring tubes if you want to float. Pack a picnic.
I would suggest doing a little research to make sure everything fits in your budget. And for the entertainment we did a TON of youtube videos that we watched to research what was worth it and what wasn't. Pigeon forge area has a lot of fun stuff. We like staying in the margaritaville inn. It is located to the entrance to the island which is an entertainment and shopping area and is walking distance to more entertainment and shopping.
Almost anywhere just off the main strip. Still within walking distance to everything.
