Airbnb next to it, the watertower
Check your average San Francisco hotel rates and multiply by two, if you expect to stay within walking distance. Stay elsewhere on the BART System at lower rates, then ride and hoof it to the Conservatory. Much cheaper.
I stayed in an Airbnb right next to it. It was a nice experience, the host was super nice.
