Yes you can.
Food inside the park is pretty expensive, you can bring your own food but will have to go through the security check line which is usually pretty long. We opted for no bags last week and walked right in through the "no bag" line down the center. Then we bought a bottled water and filled it throughout the parks. And bought a pretzel as a snack and then ate at Earl of sandwich in downtown Disney which was affordable and hopped the monorail to go back inside. It was worth it to us to not wait while they search the long lines of bags but we don't have little ones, or a large group to buy food for so or depends on your situation. There is also a Tony Romas just across the street from the main entrance and a Denny's as well. Dinners we ate near our hotel which was outside the park. The closer you get to Disneyland the higher the prices!😊

Yes they do.

Yes, I was there just last week and they do allow it.
Yes you can, plenty of places inside and out to enjoy your picnic within the park.
Yes, you can. The picnic area right outside of Disneyland has plenty of space. Or you can do like we do and find an empty bench inside the park and munch away.
Yes you can. They search your bag before walking in but only for items that are prohibited. I suggest taking waters and food. Picnic area once you get in
