BofA is not a great one , hear they want to freeze acts. Get a Charles Schwab acct, no conversion charges. Get better info on Facebook.

Please please make sure you talk to your bank about this, I heard the bank will close your account if you don't use your account in the USA with in 12 months, they say you have to spend money in the US and can't have you withdraw money in another country for more than a year. Also I suggest you save up your wife's SS income as well as the rental as $2313 is more than enough to be living as a high class family in Mexico. Maybe save up to buy a nice house in Mexico since you'll live in Merida which is a kind of tourist place, houses should be around 75k US dollars for your dream house in Mexico. And to become a resident check in with the Mexican Consulate in Merida but to be honest being a US Citizen you won't need to become a Mexican resident unless you're planning to work in Mexico, otherwise you should be good living in Mexico with no problems as well with being absent from the US. Also I almost forgot there was a law where they can only sell land to Mexican Citizens, but no sure.
