You only need to sign up for a nonth now. When I signed up they took my CC number and charge me each month.

Membership is usually a year, they charge you an annual fee and at the beginning of your membership and charge you the same price at the start of the new year. As for the internet I'm not sure I just know they show when you became a member that's about it. Hope this helped!
