Hi Jimmy, she is definitely not too old to be spayed, but I would call Sterling Animal Shelter directly and leave them a phone message. They are usually really good about calling back. Good luck! Paula
Call and speak to them directly, only they can give you a true answer
Jimmy. As a former vet tech if you have concerns of any underlying health issues which normallythey would pick up on at the shelter or wherever you got her ..bring it to their attention but as far as age there should be more concern of her getting cancer from now being spayed. Sterling is very good great doctors great staff and remember they deal with shelters so your in good hands my friend. Woof! Do her the favor and get her fixed.. Cancer sucks and we see it often in the unspayed . Best to both of you!
Because of her age. Have blood work run on her just to be safe. Anesthesia can trigger any underlying medical issues to activate and make her sick or hurt her. Long story short. My 3 yr old rescue passed because a spay clinic elsewhere did not run the blood work. Anesthesia activated Lymes i didnt know she had and she suffered a horrible kidney shutdown for 5 weeks until she died.
