Help Do you pick up baby birds? Well, it's a teen (wild bird) It has feathers but can't fly yet. Found him on the ground yesterday alive and healthy. My brother says is a baby mocking bird.

Observing from a distance for at least a half hour is best. Parents could be out gathering food, but should return. Also call Lindsay wildlife yo get more info.

Yes, it's ok to pick up baby birds (gently of course). Their parents will NOT abandon them. It's best to scoop it up gently with a lightweight towel. Be careful not to injure wings. Before you pick it up, try observing it to see if parents are still around. Sometimes they are suppose to be on the ground when they first leave the nest. If you decide to take it to Lindsay, don't give it any food or water.

There is a special drop location to the right of the main entrance. They are only open during certain hours, check website for hours
