The stump is found a few hundred yards between it's access points. So it requires a bit of walking. After a storm items get washed up or uncovered.
Yes, there's usually tons all along the beach, it just depends on the tide.
I did not see any shells when I was there. Prehaps it's a good place for a metal detector.
