If your dog is an approved animal, it can go aboard with you. If not, it goes in a carrier as cargo. Most airlines restrict the animal because people were bringing snakes, lizards rodents and other crazy pets along, described as "emotional support animals". I believe now or had to be a dog, and only if certified as support dogand tagged as such
