Sometimes the vendor has a pre figured discount they will allow and have told the shop that it is final. However, when something has sat in a shop for a year or more you would think that either the vendor would reduce the price or make a sign that OFFERS would be considered.
No..the Vendor has the final say so. The salesperson should call the vendor right then, while you want a price on the item. Not wait or dismiss you.
I have passed on three pieces to date due to this... high price items that are still sitting there. One, the salesperson told me he was interested in himself... loss to the vendors...
