We have a natural gas fireplace insert in our living room. I cannot find a fresh air duct anywhere. So is the fireplace using up the oxygen in our home?

Actually yes. You cannot have fire with out 3 things oxygen, fuel, heat. However you cannot remove something without replacing with something else, so has your fire burns oxygen it is drawing more from outside. Your house is not sealed from the outside. As recommended with all gas types you should have a carbon dioxide alarm in your house. It will beep if your air gets to saturated. Hope this helps.
