Go onto YouTube and type in USS Hornet Ghosts and you’ll find a lot of videos about prominent ghost hunters that have been on board…
From what I've seen on TV it seems so and having gone to the area what is reported to have activity its a real possiblity that your imagination will play tricks on you.
I don't believe it is known to be haunted, nor have any reports been made.
Not that I know of.
