I bought Organic romaine lettuce at Costco in Salem Oregon last week, after asking an employee an the cold room if their romaine was from Central California. He said no. But it was grown in Salinas CA. Is it OK to eat or not?

I wouldn't eat it because there was a good recall on any romaine coming from the Salinas CA. area for salmonella maybe not even 2 weeks ago. Don't eat it!

Hi there. First I would take it back because they lied about it. Just principle. I don't know of any food warnings from Cali. If you know one is in effect or have another reason to not eat from that part of the country, I would still take it back. I tend do things on the safe side now more than ever because you just never know anymore

I returned mine with no issues.

I was there yesterday and they had a sign above the lettuce that said it was not from that area. I'm not sure about last week so I would suggest calling the store.

Nope. I would not eat

They have an excellent return policy, wouldn't be a problem at all.
