I believe they have moved to a reservation only admission. (This is to better track capacity and so folks coming from far away don't arrive and find out zoo is not admitting any more people. ) Not sure if it is just during Jungle Bells or a covid thing. Check their website. I think they will admit some non-reservation folks if they are far enough below capacity.
Yep! Weekdays shouldn't have much of a line, but you might have to wait a bit in the parking lot on weekends. you pass through a mandatory health check station on the way to the ticket booth that can be kind of slow.
