I'm thinking they don't check the bags for less contact with customer's items in case covid virus is present and they might be also short on staff. However I will definitely prefer bags to be checked. This could avoid any dangerous situation.
You could just stay home. I'm pretty sure you'll feel safe there.
You cant expect bag checks like Airports otherwise all places will have customs like officers there. At the end of the day its a zoo enjoy all the madness and beauty.

Open areas generally don't check bags unless they receive credible threats
People are stupid thats why they should check bags. Because anyone can slip a knife or handgun within because we live in a gun obsessed country.

They have never checked but don't usually have issues that I've seen.
