They do not offer any kind of discounts. When I first got the tickets I checked on every kind of discount imaginable. Their priority is taking care of the animals at the zoo and ensuring everyone is safe. I can't even imagine what this costs given the variety of animals and unique diets they must provide for every day. Spending the day at this zoo, is well worth it, even without a discount.
They do have discounts for military, I used the discount for AAA.

I would look into membership to get discounts and free entrance on multiple visits to the zoo and the safari park. Some discounts also apply to visitors who come with you. I got $50 discount that way a couple of days ago.

The only discount the zoo offers directly is 10% off for seniors or students. Active military and teachers on a field trip are free. I personally bought a San Diego city pass that included the zoo and safari park plus many other attractions.
