Depends on where you are. Some places have a lot of shade ie rainforest or not as much africa area. There is always a place to find shade or shaded area. We upgraded to the plus pass for 5$more that gave access to the tour bus or the kangaroo bus that makes 4 stops around park where you can get on and off. It was great with small children and a hot day.
