Yes but you need to get there early!
Park on the street. I've been coming here for over 15 years and I've never once parked in any of the Balboa parking lots. You can easily access the fleet science center by parallel parking on Park Blvd DIRECTLY next to the building by the bridge. Then just walk 50 yards up the little grassy hill from the street. Its easiest access if you have little ones and you want to get in and out of there without walking all the way through Balboa park and letting your kiddos get distracted to and from the car. I'd rather be 90 seconds from my car to the entrance.

Only if you get there early. U can always have your man drop you off while he deals with the parking. Meanwhile you can enjoy the sites.
