The museum used to be owned by ICR until they relocated to Texas. The company that purchased the museum and all the surrounding buildings is owned by a Christian gentleman that felt it was important to keep the museum open. The company is not tax exempt so I would doubt the museum is either (although I'm not sure). I doubt what he charges for admission even covers maintenance. I think he remodeled and added to it out of his own pocket.
There is a chapel on site.
They were bought out and did remodeling now they charge to get in but its still worth seeing and if you plan ir out go on the free day
I'm not sure of their tax status.
