Is there a fee for parking?

I am pretty sure the park is free. I have been going there for years and never paid.

When we were there last month there wasn't anyone manning the gate. It is a State Park so usually there is during the season.

There is a year round user day entrance fee of $3.00 for Maine residents ages 12 to 64. If the gate is not manned the fees are explaind on the signboard just past the main parking lot. THere is also a place there to put your money in on the honor system. The fee applies per person no matter if you drive or walk into the park.
