Escape room Brunswick does have a Halloween themed room where you escape from a witch's cabin. It's not specifically scary, but there are some jump scares involved.
Peggie the Escape Room is a game where you are trapped in a themed scenario And you have to solve puzzles within an allotted time to win. It's not a haunted house per se but some of the scenarios can be scary. It's a fairly new concept that's only been around a couple of years. That may be why you've never heard of this place.
There are haunted places on Bowdoin college campus,a haunted house in Harpswell and on Orrs island there are a couple.
