I say choose what feels right. Everyone has different preferences when it comes to their set ups, and what might be ideal for someone else- might not be for you. Swing by and I'll have you stand on a couple of different sizes so you can get a feel for shape and width. We'll get you set up with something you'll be hyped on. Best, Marc

You grow into a skateboard. Best just to get a twin tail skate deck. I wouldn't think the smallest hardest wheels would be good for a beginner.

You should pop into Contenders. The owner is always incredibly helpful and will set you up with all the gear you need. It's always better to build your own skateboard at a local shop because usually premade skateboards give you cheap parts with lower performance. Whatever you get is going to depend on your size/ what feels right under your feet (the board, the trucks, the wheels). Oh, and I also suggest getting protective gear (helmet, knee pads, elbow pads). At least grab a helmet (you can probably get one for sale on ebay if you wanna save a buck), because you will fall a lot but it's all a part of learning! Don't be discouraged, just be safe and practice how to fall correctly. Good luck:)
