It is extremely convenient that Sure Foundation Baptist Church answered you with such a verse. They must pull that out whenever they feel uncomfortable with answering a question. Another one such people like to pull out is, “ Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.” Matthew 7:6 - KJV When “Christians” don’t answer or engage with the world, and instead distance themselves from it using out of context scripture to deflect reasonable arguments...it’s because they’re afraid. To an angry, scared, and volatile people even the Bible is a weapon to be used to their own end, not God’s. Dear Sure Foundation Baptist Church, perhaps consider these verses: “Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.” Romans 12:14,17-21
