I feel like it would lose freshness and appeal after traveling and I think you would get some strange looks. The smell could also be an issue. I think if you have a solid way of transporting it that would actually protect it and make it able to stow away, then it should be okay. I do think traveling with a cooked turkey is preferable to a raw one. I think you should also consoder the length of the flight. It is Portland, and it seems like anything is possible there
