Our family would like to make a donation to the Portland AA organization in memory of a family member who, through AA, stayed sober for over 30 years before he died. Is that possible. Thank you, Carolyn Kingen

Alcoholics Anonymous organizations, such as the Portland Area Intergroup, can only accept contributions from members of Alcoholics Anonymous (or from A.A. Groups). You will see the following message on their contribution web page (https://pdxaa.org/contribute-to-portland-area-intergroup): NOTE: In accordance with Alcoholics Anonymous Tradition 7, we only accept contributions from individual members of AA and from AA groups. Limiting contributions to members only allows us to take responsibility for our own well-being in a way we did not before we got sober.

This is possible. There are many AA club houses that host several meetings throughout each day. Any of them will likely be glad to accept donation. The Portland Area Intergroup as mentioned previously by Mr. Ballinger is one of many and my opinion is in agreement with him that it would be a good way to donate as well. Thank you for your selflessness and generosity.
