Amphead came recommended to me by my dad who got his fender concert serviced almost a decade ago. (in case your wondering shes still rocking solid) I gave Jim a challenging project that many others may have turned down. It was a previously "worked on" pcb high powered tube amp. Not every techs favorite project lol. He repaired it quickly and had it sounding great. Within a week or two I had a preamp tube fail he replaced the preamp tube to get my reverb going free of charge and sent me on my way. After a session or two playing at normal levels I began to have intermittent issues. None of this was any fault of Jims. I was frustrated at this point with the amp but Jim was calm cool and collected the whole time. I was able to drop it off the next day and he went to work on the new intermittent issues. He was extremely diligent and able to solve the issue in a very reasonable timeframe after quite a bit of poking around. He gave me a super fair price to keep this project from completely blowing my budget out and putting me in the red. The project was not without hiccups and involved a lot of extra explanation and work on his part. Jim went above and beyond to help me understand the process and made sure to get me a solid amp. Im so happy I chose amp head to do the work and cant recommend them enough. Always cool to see all the stuff they are working and and hes got a pretty sweet guitar collection as well! Thanks again Jim!

Called Jim at Amphead after finding out a Mesa Mark IV I purchased was non functional. He promptly returned my call, gave me advice on the amp, and gave me a ballpark estimate for the repair costs. I dropped the amp off and 2 weeks later (most of that wait time was due to a backordered part from Mesa) it was back in my hands and sounding good as new, my total bill was well under $300 for parts and labor and I think that is extremely reasonable.

My father in-law gave me a custom made tube head recently. It sounds great, but given that it's basically home made it had some wiring issues that created an unfortunate buzzing noise when plugged in/turned on. Jim was super responsive and helpful, and had the amp back to me in half the amount of time that he originally anticipated, all for a reasonable price. The amp now sounds amazing and the buzzing is gone completely. I'll definitely be coming back if I ever need more amp work done.

A+ Excellent amp repair tech! I brought in my 1961 Fender Tremolux to have it fully serviced and completely gone through to insure safety and reliability when I play. I told them I would like all the original parts back that were replaced, and he saved all of them for me. He also took before/after pictures of the circuitry for me which I meant to ask for but forgot and he did it anyway without my request. That was really cool of him to do. Communication was very quick, and the amp repair work was finished quickly ahead of the 2-3 weeks originally stated when I dropped the amp off. Very happy overall. The Amp sounds amazing with no issues at all.

Give'em a call, always depends on how much they have in the queue. I think it's usually about 2 weeks though if I remember correctly. Definitely recommend these guys!

Ebay I think. I don't believe Amphead sells amps. However they do have amp maintenance equipment such as tubes and whatnot. I would call Jim and ask, but again highly doubt he has one to sell to you.
