1) When is happy hour? 2) After about a dozen disappointing Chinese restaurants in Portland, I stopped trying. This place gives me some hope, but I've been misled before. Any reassurances from worldly gourmands?

If you're seeking non-Americanized Chinese food, try Chin's over near the Hollywood Theatre. New owners in the past few months, and they're cooking the kind of food I ate in China.

I won't guarantee that you won't be disappointed but giving up is no good! They definitely have a couple of dishes that are not worth trying again but overall they are well worth the trip. Steamed dumplings are a must have.

I think this is one of the best Chinese food places Portland has to offer. Food is rarely fresh when you eat at a Chinese food spot this place has fresh food and it's good

The cherry pork is great!

It's not fancy, but it's good and it's fresh. There are some actual Chinese dishes, not just the American Chinese food. Food quality is high, atmosphere loud. Always crowded, service not always efficient. But worth it. Totally
