I have a 1995 525i needs transmission I got a transmission out of a 2000 740 I will it work in mine? I understand that mine is a 6 cylinder in the one that came out of is an 8-cylinder however I noticed that it has a removable bellhousing

As simple as that question maybe it's kind of a tough one down on the console on the left side of my gear selector there is a button with an option for manual or automatic

Is your 95' 5 series an automatic or manual transmission, if they are different from one another? then no they are not compatible.
