If you are under 25. Birth certificate and parent. Over 25 years old and have a birth cert you'll need 3 more docs such as ss card, HS or college transcript, year book with your picture in it. There are many ways to do it, that's most common. Dol.wa.gov will help you. You must also have proof of residence such as utility bill with your name and address. Again go to website since there are many ways to prove residence.
If you get an enhanced id you need a birth certificate in addition to the normal items you need for the old traditional drivers license. Check out the dmv website, it does a great job of listing approved documents.
